Variety is the spice of life. We’ve been told that a good number of times lately. And this thought gave us an idea. A new to us but old to CLT idea.
SumConsulting prides itself on being a small business, as well as women owned. We thrive on it, and we adore it. Being small, and loving locality makes the world go round. As a result of our love and this idea, we’ve decided to routinely honor another small business in the community when we go visit them. Restaurants, local shops, street fairs run by locals, nothing is off the market for us. In our quest to brand ourselves as a small and local business, we want to take a moment to highlight the others who cross our paths who have shaped a community that we see today. After all, variety…am I right?
First off in this series is The Table in Asheboro, NC. Starting in 2013 after a long wait of anticipation, doors opened to a culture of a living and breathing being all on its own. The Table. Modeled after a sweet summertime evening, the food and drinks combined with eclectic but down home atmosphere enable customers to fully feel the work and love that has gone into building this business.
Once entering The Table, the chandelier made of glass bottles and southern farm themed decor with sheep immediately brings a city transplant like myself back to my childhood. The food is green and fresh. The coffee is roasted. And the bread is baked fresh. Customers love the feel of celebration of the area and nostalgia, and continuously come back for more.
As the first local business in our series, we can’t think of a better location to highlight. Dustie Greyson, who formed this vision, was recently featured in Woman’s Day as one of five women “helping their communities thrive.” And boy, is she.
As fellow local women attempting to make a change in their own community, we applaud this fresh light in Asheboro.
